IAS Exam 2019 Application Form, Dates, Age Limit, Pattern, Admit card and Result

IAS Exam, also known as Indian Administrative Service, is a national level competition exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) annually to recruit candidates for civil services like IPS, IFS (Foreign), IAAS, IRS, IDAS, CAPF-AF, and others. Nearly two lac candidates appear for the Civil Services Examinations each year.

(1.) 10% EWS reservation will be Applicable in IAS – 2019. Candidates have to get their Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate ready before August 31, 2019.

(2.) IAS Application Form has been released on the official website (www.upsc.gov.in) from February 19, 2019.

(3.) Last day to fill the form of IAS 2019, is March 18, 2019, after which the link will be disabled.

(4.) Any candidate possessing a graduation degree can apply for the IAS exam.

(5.) IAS Prelims Exam test General knowledge and Mental Aptitude of the candidates.

There are three stage in the IAS examination pattern.

(1.) IAS Prelims – June 2, 2019

(2.) IAS Mains – September 20, 2019

(3.) Interview/ Personality Test

Age Limit

(1.) The lower age limit for IAS Exam 2019 is Twenty One years as on August 01, 2019, while the upper age limit is 32 years.

(2.) There is upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates, which is as follows:

  • SC/ST- Up to 05 years
  • OBC- Up to 03 years
  • Defense Services Personnel disabled in operations during hostilities- Up to 03 years
  • Ex-servicemen- Up to 05 years
  • ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service- Up to 05 years
  • PwD candidates- Up to 10 years
  • Domiciles of Jammu and Kashmir from January 01, 1980, to December 31, 1989- Up to 05 years

Applicants should have a bachelor’s or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
