A first for India — and for our team. Dr Vykuntaraju K.N., Director and Senior Paediatric Neurologist at BCNRC, has co-authored what is believed to be India's first reported case of a MADD-related genetic disorder, published in the journal Clinical Dysmorphology. The case — an eight-year-old with severe growth failure, developmental delay and unexplained brain changes — had puzzled doctors for years before whole-genome sequencing identified the rare mutation. The findings also revealed several disease features never before documented worldwide.
