Trust & verification

A directory is only as good as the listings inside it. This page explains, in plain terms, what our verified badge means, how we detect duplicates and fake entries, and what happens when you report a listing.

What the verified badge means

A verified badge is granted only after ownership is confirmed. It is never bought and never awarded automatically for paying customers alone.

  • Phone ownership — an OTP is delivered to the number on the listing and confirmed by the claimant.
  • Identity match — the claimant's name and role are recorded with the claim.
  • Business proof — for high-risk categories our team asks for a shop photo, GST certificate, licence or utility bill.
  • Manual review — every claim is approved or rejected by a human in the admin console, with the reason logged.

Paid plans include verification only because the same checks are run during onboarding. If the checks fail, the badge is not issued and the plan is refundable.

Trust score, explained

Separate from the badge, every listing carries a trust score out of 10. It combines verification status, profile completeness (address, hours, photos, services), review depth and how recently the listing was updated. A high rating with a thin profile will not outrank a complete, verified listing.

Duplicates and fake listings

  • New submissions are matched against existing records by name, phone and location before they go live.
  • Listings with the same phone number in the same locality are merged, keeping the richer record.
  • Submissions with disposable emails, link-stuffed descriptions or bulk-identical text are auto-blocked.
  • Businesses reported as permanently closed are hidden from search after review.

Reviews policy

  • Reviews from signed-in accounts only — one review per account per business.
  • Owners can reply publicly but cannot delete a review.
  • Reviews containing abuse, personal data or promotional links are removed.
  • Incentivised or paid-for reviews are grounds for removing the verified badge.

Reporting a listing

Every business page carries a Report this listing link. Use it for a wrong phone number, a closed business, a duplicate entry or a listing you own but did not create. Reports reach our review queue immediately and are actioned within 48 hours. You can also write to us from the contact page.

Owner controls

If a business is yours, claim it with an OTP on the listed number. Once verified you can correct every detail, add photos and services, and respond to reviews — changes go live on the public listing immediately.
